Motorcycle safety escort: because safety is not just a word!

The role of the motorcycle driver is very difficult when it is to be in accompanying group. Of course always the degree of risk varies depending on the position it will have and of course on many other factors, whether external or internal, which we will analyze below.

It is correct that the security escort, in addition to the training he must have for the specific job, which is specialized, should also have special training in machines.

He should know his capabilities as a rider, but also the capabilities of the specific machine he will be using each time, so that he is able to handle his motorcycle in different weather conditions, as well as on different road surfaces.

It is important for those involved in these types of motorcades to know that their reaction time is increased, because they have to pay attention to many and various - unrelated to driving - details for each specific escort. Thus, their attention to driving is significantly reduced. So, in any sharp maneuver of the vehicle in front if they do not have the corresponding safety distance they will be in danger.

At these speeds, however, where most such transfers are made for understandable reasons, an accident - apart from endangering everyone - almost always has dramatic consequences.

Knowing therefore all the difficulties and innumerable dangers that machines entail, there should be a plan for even the smallest detail, so as to minimize the possibilities that will put the machine out, and consequently also the driver.
