Driving in tunnels: special care is required!

Our country in several areas has some of the largest tunnels.

The use of the tunnel during the entry, the stay, but also the exit of the vehicle needs special attention.

When entering the tunnel, the driver must moderate the speed of his vehicle in accordance with the limits of the traffic code and the existing markings.

If it is day, he should take off his sunglasses - if he is wearing them - and turn on the lights.

It must increase the safety distance from a vehicle in front, not to change speed, not to stop on the right for no reason, not to reverse in any case, nor to reverse.

Also, he must in any case be prepared for the change that the light will cause when leaving the tunnel, but also when entering earlier of course.

In the tunnels there are now:

- Escape routes every 350 or 400 meters

-Fire fire nest every 50 meters

-Supervision and control systems

-Lighting regulation systems

-Pollution and ventilation measuring systems

-Telephone installation every 100 meters

-Light signaling

-Radio communications

-Traffic metering system

-Variable message signs

Vehicle height measuring device

And all this of course for the safety of citizens and traffic!
