Coronavirus and car: a critical equation for a solution!

In the days leading up to a pandemic we must always keep in mind the non-spread of the coronavirus. The more we pay attention when disinfecting our vehicle, the more difficult the transmission.

In the family car things are easy, if we take care of ourselves, in order to remain safe. Because the people who use it are the same anyway, and they are together most of the day, they know their contacts and things are easier. However, it is advisable to wash your hands whenever you need to use the vehicle before and after driving.

Also, to clean the steering wheel and all the surfaces that we touch with the special cleaners that are available in the trade. Keep windows open and air conditioning cleaned and disinfected frequently. It would be good to avoid putting people outside our family in our car, as well as to borrow it.

Although in a previous article we stressed that the vehicle should never be parked in the sun, as the temperature inside the cab is rapidly rising to a high level and passengers are not allowed to enter, now we have to say that it is best to leave the vehicle in the sun when not in use, because studies on coronavirus have shown that it does not survive high temperatures.

But things are quite difficult in commercial vehicles -like taxis, buses, VIP transport vehicles, trains, planes, etc.- which due to their use pass a lot of people every day. Users of these vehicles should wear disposable gloves, dual masks, and avoid - as much as possible - contact with various common components.

Immediately afterwards they should wash their hands properly and leave their clothes outside when returning. These vehicles must be disinfected after each route and ventilated, and it is important when they are not used to stay in the sun to raise the temperature inside the cabin enough to destroy the coronavirus, as we mentioned just before.

In short, prevention is the best solution to the problem even in the car!
